Emerging Technologies for Learning, Pedagogy, and Assessment

Exploring how AI, immersive environments, and adaptive systems are transforming teaching, learning, and assessment practices

Track Introduction

This track explores how emerging technologies are transforming the ways teaching, learning, and assessment are designed and experienced across educational settings. It highlights innovative approaches that use digital tools, artificial intelligence, immersive environments, adaptive systems, and online platforms to create more flexible, engaging, collaborative, and responsive learning experiences. The track also considers how technology can enhance pedagogical practices, support educators, and provide new ways of assessing and measuring student learning.

The themes encompass e-learning, blended and distance education, virtual learning environments, collaborative and experiential learning, educational games and software, and innovative teaching methodologies. Particular attention is given to the growing role of AI systems, adaptive educational systems, agent-based learning environments, and technology-enabled assessment, including e-assessment, computer-aided assessment, e-testing, and assessment methods in blended learning environments. The track also welcomes research on educator development, learning theory, student project management, online mentoring, immersive learning, and metrics for learning and performance. Collectively, these themes provide a platform for research that examines how emerging technologies can meaningfully enhance pedagogy, learner engagement, assessment practices, and educational outcomes.

Prof. Christine Nicole Victorio

National University, Philippines

Christine Nicole Victorio attained her master's degree in Mathematics Education at Ateneo de Manila University. Currently, she serves as a faculty member at National University – MOA, where she teaches undergraduate mathematics courses. Her research focuses primarily on qualitative studies in mathematics education. Her specific areas of interest include mathematical pedagogical practices, authentic learning pedagogies, mathematical creativity, artificial intelligence in mathematics education, and mathematical problem-solving and problem-posing.

She has presented her research at various local and international conferences, and her work has been published in several local and international publications and proceedings. Most recently, she presented at the 30th Asian Technology Conference in Mathematics in the Philippines, focusing on the use of AI in mathematical tasks. Currently, she is part of a research team developing a teacher professional development program that promotes Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and mathematical modeling with the assistance of AI.
